@Rockhead,
next big (but not as big as it once used to be) purchase - a nice little wifi hub eh

I've been pricing them lately. Not quite ready to jump in yet, but I'm liking what I read/see.

gotta get it together and get out the door. lots to do today...

called in a favor over to the salvage. gonna go pick up a $30 receiver hitch for the ford. (gonna call it Bart. the car is Betty)

then I can tow vehicles to the country house with it instead of the worn out chebby.

by the third trip it will have paid for itself...

and I'm hunting a TPS for a tune port so I can swap it to a buddy for a bed-liner for Bart.

he's shaping up nicely nicely...

gonna push the internet company to come tomorrow. I want this to be my last night here.

the new place has an incredibly better aura than this firkin dump...

@Rockhead,
I'm glad you're making the move (or have made the move)

Went to the Royal with my best pal yesterday. She's got a lot of dairy issues. She sampled some goat ice cream successfully - went back and ordered a double scoop. We also sampled some very nice warm almond milk on some kinda rice cereal - very tasty.

(and I'm back online. finally)

gotta go back to town and find something to eat.

he is just now pulling away...

I wanted my radio on top of the second story...

@Rockhead,
I'll let MAB know about the coconut ice cream recommendation.

Might be something her son could be convinced to create!

@ehBeth,
the rubber tree came on today's truck. only a few stragglers left. and mosta my tables and saucers are here now.

the acoustics here are incredibly better than the trailer was.

and it's firkin warm in here. with a real heater...

I set up the computer/music center in the dining room.

gonna use the living room and front bedroom as plants and fish tanks rooms. I have big empty spaces yet, but it looks nice. almost formal with my art...

I didn't realize how much I missed tall ceilings until I had them again.

I watched dark knight rising last night since I had no net.

I hope they hurry up and get the next one cranked out.

I'm digging catwoman, and surprisingly I like how they brought "robin" in...

even stinky enjoyed it. lap time after our moving adventure. (he piddled on my pillows from fright when I first put him in the truck)

so I had late night laundry duty to go with the batman film...

@vonny,
he's had a cakewalk compared to me...

damn lazy spoilt gato.

anyways.

gonna get over to the little post office today before they close at noon. who ever heard of a post office that is only open mornings. it's a conspiracy I tell ya...

and then me and the tow dolly are gonna start emptying cars outta the farm.

power is scheduled to be killed there sometime today.

then I will start stripping the electrical pieces from the shop.

gonna leave it just like I found it...

verra long day.

but a lot was accomplished...

the farm is without power, so I can strip wires and boxes at will.

and I got my dressers and kitchen stuff out.

I fell down last night, and there was only a coupla cans of food. and no can opener on site...

a hammer, a chisel, and some needle nose pliers allowed for a meager meal, cooked in a giant frying pan. (the only one here)

the internet guy kinda screwed me up with his 7 hour install...

but tonight I brought some new food (borrowed a mini fridge)and after the gas clears out, Ima try and light the oven again. (ok, I originally accidentally wrote fry, so Ima wait just a little extry longer)gonna bake me a tater.

the antique gas stove is older than me by a coupla generations. 30s or 40s I would guess.

Ima love it once I get the hang of it...

and I got a ride in to get Betty.

now I have a heater if I needa run at night...

got it lit.

no 'splosions...

gonna have my first real meal in the country house. it still has a verra grandma feel to it.

chuck left the fancy curtains, and mosta my stuff is old. (not antique per se, just old)

and now that the 50 mph winds have let up, it is verra peaceful.and Bart and Betty look right together out in the driveway.

we'll see how long it takes my neighbors to see the devil's head on Betty and send someone over to pray for me...

underneath all of the old grease, dust, and cat hair (chuck and his old lady have 6) lies a very cool very old roper gas range.

but it is cleaning up gorgeous...

and after a coupla shots of CLR, the stainless sink shines again.

big functional kitchen.

gonna be a good winter for food...

@FOUND SOUL,
I used to love cooking.

now I have so many dietary restrictions that I mostly hafta cook. I live a long way from my restaurants now. and I need to stop spending money. stage work is slowing down, and I am not set up to do shop work any time soon.

I haven't had a fully functional kitchen in over 3 years.

and I have to finish cleaning this one up. this house was literally a cat house. and furniture storage. chuck cleaned up half of it for me. upstairs is still his. (and the third bedroom on the ground floor.

it's a great big old house...

(they took the cats to live as one big happy Laughing cat family at his place.)

hmmmmm.

I had just assumed that moving to a town of 200 that I would be the most unusual member.

but I just saw a guy drive past the house in a late model Toyota pickup. and in the back was a dude sitting on a stool and manning a mounted anti-aircraft gun.

this bears further investigation.

(there is a little airport on the other side of the lake...)
