@Letty,
I don't know anyone that doesn't like Letty.

On Farmerman's walnuts; the husks are also loaded with chemicals, whether it's always there, or only forms when they fall from the tree, I don't know. Anyhow, it works as a narcotic or paralytic in fishes. Sadly, after they doze off, it also prevents their gills from processing dissolved oxygen. If you don't grab them by the pectoral fins and walk them around, they die.

Just checking in with you. You've gone quiet. Everything okay?

How's the snow? We're going to get highs in the mid 70's at the end of the week. Hope that gives you something to look forward to when it moves on to your side of the West.

http://www.kgw.com/video/featured-videos/Eugene-man-opens-chicken-hotel-202701701.html

Quote:
EUGENE, Ore. -- A Eugene man says he's the proud proprietor of the country's very first chicken hotel.
Bill Bezuk added his new hotel called “the Nest" to his urban farming store earlier this year.
The accommodations are top notch, with split-level suites, a cage valet and plenty of room to roam.
"When people come in and see that we have a luxury chicken hotel, the first thing they do is laugh, and the second thing they do is say, hey that's a really good idea," Bezuk said.
“The Nest” even has turn-down service, which means mealworms before bed.
Bezuk said his hotel is really taking off. He's already booked through May.

just listening to a radio interview with Mr. Bezuk.

gotta love a guy with an idea.

@ehBeth,
So - do people drop their chickens off for a vacation there? I have actually heard that chickens are very good pets...is that true?

@Ragman,
Why am I afraid to answer that question?

Maybe it is because I had someone ask me if I wanted to kiss a rabbit between the ears one time as he pulled out his front pockets. Yeah...makes one consider carefully before answering these types of questions. Wink

This pizza recipe claims to be gluten-free, and actually looks pretty good:

NO DOUGH PIZZA
Gluten Free, Low Carb, Diabetic Friendly!!!!!!
For when you absolutely want pizza but not all the carbs!!!!!!!

Crust
1 (8 oz) package of full fat cream cheese, room temperature
2 eggs
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Topping
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
toppings - pepperoni, ham, sausage, mushrooms, peppers
Garlic powder

Preheat oven to 350.

Lightly spay a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray. With a handheld mixer, mix cream cheese, eggs, pepper, garlic powder and Parmesan cheese until combined. Spread into baking dish. Bake for 12-15 minutes, our until golden brown. Allow crust to cool for 10 minutes.

Speaking of Lawrence ... the Jayhawks are gonna be a powerhouse next year, even with losing all 5 starting seniors from this year. Repeat trip to the Final Four ... you heard it here first!
