@mismi,
KitchenPete is a poster who hadn't posted here in years - got married, had two kids, popped by recently to say hey. There was a bit of a crowd of women going hey! back to him.

Things are busy in Kansas.

@mismi,
Thinking about you and all your critters. Hope you are all warm and well fed, and that you have so many work projects going on that people have to make reservations and wait in line.

Time to come up for air, bud. Let us know you're still kicking, ticking, licking or whatever it is you're doing out there. Wink

@Butrflynet,
I have a cousin named Bubba. And my papaw was named JD (those letters didn't stand for anything that we ever knew of). Mamaw's name was Nellie, a second cousin named J-Lloyd, great uncle named Cyril, the other Clyde. Papaw and mamaw had 7 kids. He owned a gas station and a trailer park that I used to roam freely about. He would let me grab a bottle coke after I had collected as many bottles as I could from around the trailer park. Bare footed. Burned my leg on my cousins dirt bike when I laid it down on a red dirt road. Got barbed wire cuts on my back and arm while trying to dodge a welsh pony that was backing up to give me a kick....or I thought it was anyway. I shimmied back under the fence and jumped on it's back and let it almost take my head off under a clothes line as it hauled tail for the barn.

Good times.

Very ummmm redneck.

Did I ever tell you that my cousin had 18 woofers in his little black truck? When I would sit in it and listen to music it would make my butt itch. He also had blacklights under the carriage. His sister had "bad attitude" written across the top of her windshield. My Uncle Grady has two pit bulls, one named Hebert and the other named Boudreaux. They are sweet as they can be. My Aunt Jeanne had a rotweiler named Coda that the neighbor shot with a shotgun one day. Coda was a sweety pie...but trailer park neighbors can be kind of touchy sometimes. Also - cousin named Gus. Looks like a Gus too. For our Christmas party - we karaoke on the back porch of Uncle Grady's place. Lots of Waylon Jennings and Patsy Cline.

Lots of fun stories from the long line my beloved redneck kin...of which I claim to be one. Just thought I'd share. Very Happy
2PacksAday

@mismi,
Happy New Year Rocky!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hmm, I don't think we have a bubba in the whole family, and most of us would be considered very redneck....now that I'm thinking about it, there may be one, but I'm not sure, I have a lot of cousins. Generally we tend to have common names.....William, Charles, Robert....etc...we have a "Tater" and two Dewey's, which I always thought was a funny name. In my close family, there are 5 named Charles Russell MacSomethingoranother. All five Charlie's, Sr - 5th have nicknames, from the oldest down....Ruddy, Chuck, Rusty, Chucky, Russ....that's how we tell them apart when talking about them.
I did have an uncle named Leonidas, as in the Greek king....battle of Thermopylae....I always wondered why they named a Scotsman after a Greek....but my first name is Greek in origin as well....and I named my daughter after a very famous Greek, well Macadonian.
Saw about Smoky. I am sorry. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
Saw this and thought of you...They are green - have spinach in them - which is why they are called Popeye Pancakes...
Popeye gluten-free Pancake recipe
INGREDIENTS
3 eggs
1/8 cup of coconut milk
1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk*
1/3 cup Gluten free oats
1/4 buckwheat flour
1/8 cup gluten-free flour
Dash salt
Dash of cinnamon
2 large handfuls of spinach
+ toppings of your choice!
DIRECTIONS
1. In a blender or food processor, blend dry ingredients till fine. Then add wet ingredients and blend.
*Add more almond milk if you prefer thin pancakes!
2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using about 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.
3. Top with berries, bananas, walnuts, goat cheese, maple syrup or top with what you like best on pancakes!
Or top with a combination of your favorite healthy toppings!
THIS HEALTH TIP WAS POSTED IN THE DECEMBER 2012 ISSUE OF “THE COCONUT WIRE” E-NEWSLETTER
Sorry to hear about Smoky. Let me know if there is anything I can help with. Hope you are doing okay in the freezing temps that we're sharing with your area.
I need a mechanic. Again.
THE STUPID MERCURY SABLE WILL NOT CRANK.
The engine sounds like it is going to, but it will not catch and stay running. So - is that the fuel pump? Or the spark plugs?
