good gravy, I'm almost 24 hours awake...

been one of those days.

but I can turn my phone off and crash. all my contacts are where I want them to be.

except that one...

traded half of my chickens to Larry.

he won't pay cash for anything, but I got my money's worth in the swap.

got 3 giant plecostomuses, 4 great big cattails, and a bunch of water hyacinths. and he owes me a favor...

and I stopped and got some more dollar plants so I have something to play with over the holiday whilst everyone else is blowing **** up...

took my happy pill, gonna go dream about kicking Fbaezer's ass in baseball tonight.

Zzzzzz...

@ehBeth,
even from my youth, I have always kinda had fluid hours. and a solid respect for 8-12 hours of sleep.

and this is gonna be a weird 48 hours or so anyway...

Smoky called and asked if he could come visit for a coupla hours. I couldn't say no. but he won't want to come at 2am...

and I doubt that I get much sleep during the war tomorrow.

so I am gonna let my tiredness dictate my schedule for a few days.

and the 103 degree afternoons, of course...

and I HAVE to finish the porch, so I can use some of my time to make some money...

it's kinda funny.

the predawn commuter crowd now slows down a little early as they approach town.

I feel as though I am building for an audience...

and if I can find some motivation, I can be almost finished tonight.

I got the coolest doodad at the yumber lard. a copper top cap for the inside corner post. with a solar light in it to illuminate the entrance to the ramp.

verra cool...

had a cuppa.

think I need another...

what a beautiful sunrise in the garden...

I think Ima go get smoky and bring him out to survey his property.

he will hafta go back before noon. that's the best I can do.

then Ima sleep until just before dark, when the fireworks will reach a crescendo.

that's the plan, anyways...

off to wash my hair.

I called smoky and told him to get hisself ready and have some breakfast...

I'm having a quick bowl of noodles so I don't fall down.

it's gonna get really hot today, I can tell...

@ehBeth,
I didn't ask anyone.

Ima just sign him out like I did when we walked to the barber for a haircut.

I'm guessing they are running a skeleton crew today.

I can always apologize later...

me and smoky are here gardening for a bit.

I hadda get my dollar plants in the ground...

I'm making him 5 hanging baskets of portulaca to hang off of his new porch.

he likes the porch. kinda overwhelmed him.

it would not be outta place on the back of a quarter million dollar home.

I have champagne taste, and the labor was cheap...

@Ceili,
he didn't want to leave...

and he loves his new porch. even my post light doodad...

but I got him back, albeit an hour late. he missed lunch.

so did I, but nobody was gonna go get me a hot ham and cheese like he got. so I stopped and got me a chicken,

sign on the bank said 104. and I was due for bed at noon.

oh well, Ima have a chicken and a salad before I crash. otherwise I won't get anything done tonight. my diet has been less than sufficient for my workload of late.

I gotta cool down before I can sleep anyways...

hmmmm.

now what to do...?

I slept a little longer than I intended. like 5 or six hours longer.

but I feel good.

gotta water like hell for a bit. other than that, nothing that HAS to be done.

gotta figure out how to get back on schedule. and what that schedule should be.

I need to pick a bedtime and try to stick to it.

I'm thinking 11 am. starting tomorrow...

now I need a cuppa.

hmmmm.

it's getting hot already, and I'm only half way through my watering. and it's too hot to work on the porch in the sun...

I think I am gonna try and nap this afternoon, and get up before dark.

lots to get done now. I'd like to pour concrete tonight, if I can get my forms all where I want them.

I think Ima go mow for Rosie. that should make me tired enough to sleep for a while...

ok. aired the tires, filled the tank, cleaned out all the yuckum clogging the mowing deck. got a bottle of water.

and am gonna go put the sprinkler on the tomatoes where it can run for an hour and I don't care. (I am the gifter of early tomatoes this year. all 3 plants are in high gear. potting them was brilliant. just brilliant)

I am also now the gifter of great big delicious homemade cookies I cannot eat. Alvie's 93 yr old mom filled my tomato bowl back up, and I didn't have the heart to tell her I could not eat them...

I'm off to mow.

( I GOTTA get a straw hat)
