@Rockhead,
a few years back, he went to our Miss Maddy and asked her to do something special for MY birthday

he didn't know what was happening on top of his head

I arrived to pick him up ... arrived just in time for the first reveal

Shocked

I don't think he'd seen it yet in that pic.

~~~~
I tossed a coupla old wheels with tires on them up there to hold the roof down for now.
how redneck is that...?
one of the joys of owning a tire machine. lotsa extra wheels and tires to use for creative purposes.
it looks like a feral cat convention in the shop. there are still coals in the stove from last night. I may toss in a coupla logs to bump it for them.
I told bubba last night she could stay inside the cabin.
pending bad plant behavior meltdowns, of course...
@Rockhead,
I say do what you gotta do. If tires are what you have and they do the job. So be it. I am all about repurposing and being creative with what you have. You make me proud.
Ummm....fraidy holes are for wise people who listen to wise counsel. If a storm spawns a tornado - whether big or small...you should be in your "safe place". Don't you watch the weather channel?
I saw the warnings or watches were on until 11:00pm. Take care of youself.
@mismi,
clear moon and stars now.
I don't get the weather channel down in the hole...
I have been trained as a storm spotter. I went out and sat in the 4x4 and listened to the weather report. this particular storm was only about 5 or ten miles wide. moving real quickly.
If we ever go to the hole, I will hafta pick smoky up and carry him down there. prolly with him beating on me with his cane.
he's kinda stubborn.
I'd almost bet he ain't ever been down there...
@mismi,
my house is kinda like a hobbit house. it has trees growing around it and over it to provide stability and shade.
which is cool until the wind peaks out at 60 or 70 mph. then the cabin sways with the trees.
it is a kinda wild sensation.
I much prefer the cab of a big heavy pickup truck. even it was rock and rolling some with the wind swells.
Kansas. gotta love it...
I think I've settled on scrambled egger sammiches for dinner. I thawed some bread, and cold tuna don't sound so good after playing out on the roof.
mebbe some more broccoli, just to be good.
@Rockhead,
harrumph
I had a can of tuna with poppy seed crackers tonight. Just couldn't get that peameal roast going.
Not sure I like the idea of rocking and rolling in a house or truck cab. Give me some nice soft snow.
@ehBeth,
I will make an effort to take some storm pictures this year...
I like daytime storms better than the night ones. it's dangerous when they sneak up on you.
all is calm now. and still firkin almost 60 degrees.
weirdness.
gonna be a long storm season this year methinks...
