Does anyone have a step buy step guide to writing Android apps. I looked at the developer page and there is nothing that says start here. I have a pretty good background in programming C C++ assembly lisp. Figure this shouldnt be any worse. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be kool.

Have you checked out the Developer Guide?

There are some samples too. You will need to download the SDK and they recommend using a program like Eclipse for your IDE
