@Robert Gentel,
i've heard that Superman II was beter than the orig, but i honestly don't remember if that's true...
I having getting DVDs of older and sometimes classic movies. The Maltese Falcon by John Houston starring former reel villain Humphrey Bogart was a remake. There were two other previous Maltese Falcons (one with Bette Davis)that were so so.
i'm not sure that either film was that great, but the devils rejects was better than house of 1000 corpses
actually i quite liked the devils rejects
the road warrior is a technically better and culturally, probably more accessible film than mad max
but i do have a soft spot for the original film, especially the non dubbed version (original north american copies were over dubbed because the distributors felt that audiences wouldn't understand the australian accent)
Enter the Dragon was epic compared to Way of the Dragon.

I didn't even know Enter The Dragon was a sequel. It
was good though
I have high hopes that Iron Man 2 will be as good as, if not better than, Iron Man (which was excellent IMO). (Bookmark) lol
@Robert Gentel,
How about
Godfather II versus
Godfather? I think the sequel is marginally better.
And although it's not technically a sequel, I think Star Trek: The Next Generation was better than the classic Star Trek series.
Weekend at Bernies II was better than one, and one was very funny.
There is 'Hercules Unchained' with Steve Reeves and Sylva Kosina which was btter than the the first Hercules with Steve Reeves who started the Muscleman movies.
Then 'From Russia with Love' was better than 'Dr. No' which had Ursula Andress. Daniela Bianchi was one of my favorites and Robert Shaw as the Russian killer was great. Also 'Goldfinger' was another one that beats 'Dr. No' with beautiful Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore, Gert Frobe and the Japanese wrestlerwith the killer hat. Luciana Paluzzi was one of the more beautiful James Bond babes in thunderball.
'For a Few More Dollars' was a btter sequel to 'A Fistful of Dollars' with Clint Eastwood who statedthe spaghetti westerns.
The sequel 'Trinity Is Still My Name was better than the original "They call Me Trinity' with Terence Hill and Bud Spencer.
