I like this melody. She sings a bit too slowly, however. I remember Jo Stafford which is pretty good because I can't remember my keys at least one day a week.

I'm not saying this is better than the original but I'm really surprised by how much I like this version by Miley Cyrus.

A cute performance of Jessie J's Bang Bang by Chinese singer Jane Zhang.

Doesn't quite fit here, but I had to put it somewhere concerned with music, and maybe it's an example of no way a cover song could beat out the inanity of the original:
ANOTHER REASON NEVER TO VISIT OHIO:
The Ohio House voted overwhelmingly to make "Hang On, Sloopy", Ohio's Official Rock Song. The bill now goes to the Ohio Senate.
I had a fair amount of extended family living in Ohio. thank the gods my direct ancestors moved to Michigan instead.
Fort Recovery Ohio's favorite son Rick Derringer was 17 when his group The McCoys hit #1 (50 years ago.)
Our band is still playing the song at parties.

Wouldn't have thought anyone could do Neil Young better than Neil Young but Nils Lofgren does with this cover. Great acoustic solo in there too.

Not sure I can say this version is better than the Smiley Lewis and/or Fats Domino renditions, but it's unique and better in it's own way, at least.

This motley crew does a series of covers. If not better than the original artists (such as Big Boy Cruddup and Big Maybelle), they're at least more famous.

Today, on what would have been Pete Seeger's 96th birthday, I thought we might like to listen to a great cover of If I Had A HAmmer by Ruthie Foster. I hope Pete heard her sing his song.
