Still, nobody does "Money For Nothin" better than that onetime pickup band with Mark Knopfler, STing, Phil Collins and Eric Clapton. I wonder if anyone has that in cache??

I only have it on CD, not sure anyone else can capture the moment. Reminds me of "Life's been good to me so far" and "on the Cover of the Rolling Stone".

@glitterbag,
Is this who you mean? When I tried your link, four videos came up. They were about different things.

I've seen the video of that performance. Sting is great, but Knopfler is horrid live, in my opinion. He is perhaps the worst live performer I know of, at least as far as what I look for in a live performance. He seems to feel it's is duty/prerogative to make the music he's performing sound absolutely nothing like the original version. And that's not a good thing.

Unless you are out on the west coast, you might not know Dave Alvin but if you like Tom Waits, you will like Dave. Here, he gives Dylan a run for his money.

Not much of a challenge to be better than the original

A young pop singer from Hong Kong does an incredible version of Alicia Keyes' Falling.

This is about four years old now, and may have been posted here already, but this kid does a fantastic cover of Lady Gaga's Paparazzi.

I don't think a revisit would hurt.

@plainoldme,
Like Hendrix with Watchtower, Alvin makes it his own. Very Happy
