@chai2,
Most child porn it is my understanding is traded in chat rooms and over P2P networks not websites.

Some adult sites do had links that are sometime not clear that might lead a person into a forbidden area of the web by error.

The FBI has also had set up honey pots web sites that is label to indicate they contain child pron without any and going there is illegal and will get you a with visit.

As far as being fearful to go somewhere there are means that can be found with a google search so you can not be trace back by means of your isp address.

It is always safer to surf the net by such means even it you are 100 percent a legal upstanding citizen.

Not anymore, the government used its spy network to find the sources, and then got the corporate owners of the internet to cooperate in shutting the transmissions down. If you try it now you will get caught, and you will do major time in jail.

The government is now working to use screens to catch child porn that is sent by email, by two parties who have connected either offline or in some dark corner of the internet. I have not heard how that effort is going.

we've all accidently accessed sites we didn't expect, but I've never heard of anyone mentioning they accidently access a child porn site.

the last time for me was about 6 years ago, when I ran into pics of girls that looked to be about 12 in sexual poses.

Stories (alleged fantasies) about abusing kids were still around as late as two years ago, and might still be, I have not looked. If they are still here there are certainly less of them.

Wrong.

There are massive websites...often you have to supply many photos yourself to be allowed into them...and they get moved around a lot.

This site got spammed by one of them a while back, and I got emailed about one of them at home....TWICE.

I reported it to the police.

@dlowan,
Well your wonderful large websites are large targets that had resulted in the past in massive police raids with the arrest of hundreds of people in dozen of countries any numbers of times. See google news.

In any case because of such actions most such trading websites are a thing of the past or are part of some law enforcement honey pot.

Most trading are done now by p2p or online chat rooms.

@dlowan,
Dlowan in my opinion the child porn issue is an excuse/reason to place technology in place to monitor the internet.

The cell phone tracking ability were put into place for 911 calls just so happen now to be used by police departments without the need for warrants to track anyone they care to.

We are all carrying tracking beacons around with us and for some strange reason the cell phone companies are keeping months of cell tower ping records on all of us. I off hand can not think of any business reason to do so can you?

@BillRM,
Ding ding ding, we have a winner!

Yes, the wholesale assault upon individual freedom is largely justified by playing upon our fears for the safety of our kids. We in the West will give up ANYTHING and everything in our quest for the fantasy of safety. 9/11 was a big help though, the worst of the data mining could not get approved until then.

@dlowan,
I was abused so very careful and talked frankly to my daughter about how to avoid, private parts, and to tell. She was molested by a teacher. He had already impregnated one student and was skilled. He spoke with my daughter for a year and then began molesting her after my husband left. He told her his mom abandoned him and his wife would not give him sex. He told her he would love her. I didn't worry about a teacher having sex with a student during athletics, so my guard was down.
