VH-1 is now covering everything they didn't cover the last time around, from that lovable decade that brought us ---
* Morrissey
* Mr. Belvedere
* The Peacetime Draft
* John Hughes movies
* Cher winning an Oscar
* the heartbreak of Bill Buckner
* USA for Africa (and their song, "Do they know it's Christmas?")
* The Wall
* Parachute pants
So, what do you remember about the '80s? Where were you? What were you doing?
For me, the 1980s are tied up inextricably with what I was doing personally. I spent '80 - '83 in college (Boston Univ.) and then '83 - '86 in Law School (Widener). then I practiced law from '86 - '90. In the meantime, I did the personals scene in '88, met my husband in late '88 and we were engaged in December of '89.
I also recall leaving Boston in May of 1983 and the Eurhythmics' "Sweet Dreams are made of This" was all over the radio and I was sick of it. Then I moved to Delaware for the summer (and then to start school) and the song was just starting to be played. So I had extra months of Annie Lennox.
