@Stradee,
Stradee,
For some reason, I stopped getting responses, so what I do is search through
saved emails and sure enough I found an old one but I also found some new topics, etc. When I saw the topic, I read through for a while and with all
that's going on in Wash. DC, we don't LOOK so United, if you get my meaning.

Anyway, I asked the question to see just what kind of response I'd get, tounge in cheek and whoever that other poster is, I'm not familiar with him/her unless the person has a new alias. Whatever!

Ready for this? It's 57 degrees right now, at 7:52PM, EST. Tonight, the rain/snow will start, because it's headed this way! Last Saturday it was 74!
It rained a couple of days ago, but the swollen Passaic River had flooded the
week before. Really terrible in the Northern Section of NJ. Schools were closed, businesses ruined, homes and furnishings lost.

Oh well, I'll make potato soup with diced chicken, mushrooms, onions and celery, dash of garlic, sea salt & pepper. I have some crusty french bread;
what more could you want? Whoops, change that to broiled fish! I'm doing meatless Fridays. It's Lent, you know.

Hey I'm stuck on "happy"! It's the only way to be. Thanks for your warm
greetings.

@teenyboone,
Look right underneath "Number 85" near where people rate the thread. You'll see "get email updates"...click there.

The Polls in favor of the new Med bill is high. That's a good beginning for people who had no idea what the fight on the Hill was about. Republicans arn't much for regulating corporations, especially the insurance industry. That and constituantcy abortion issues (although i don't believe most republican lawmakers care either way) however, a politcal issue that won't ever see agreement.

My God, winters been a bear for the East, and most of the U.S. Temps were in the 70's for 5 days, then snow, then rain, and now more rain. If we can hold on for a few more weeks...Smile

So busy, tonights dinner is pasta salad, french bread, zucchini, and biscotti for dessert. Then nynite before midnight...

Glad you're doing well, Teeny. Stay warm and enjoy dinner (sounds yummy)! Glad you stopped by. Very Happy

Wildclickers, stay warm. Sending hugs to all ~

@Stradee,
I'm getting responses from this thread again! Thank Heaven.
Yes, it's been a long, hard slog, this winter. I traveled home
to New Orleans back in February for Mardi Gras. It was sunny
but cold, brrrr, there too!

We left a blizzard in NJ, only to freeze half to death in the
French Quarter! I drank gallons of coffee! Had an Absinthe
while I was there, visited the Absinthe Museum. We were
traveling around so much we didn't do a whole lot of drinking.

I ate oysters on the half shell every day! The crowds were massive
but friendly and I just had a great time visiting family and old friends.
When we returned; you guessed it, snow still on the ground, but I was
happy to be back home! Glad to be back in the thread, too! Will click
early tomorrow.

@teenyboone,
Hi teeny! good to see you here.

Potato soup sounds like a grand idea for the weekend. I'm going to keep that in mind. With some chunks of fish it could be a nice chowder.

Sounds like your trip to New Orleans was very good. Oysters!

@ehBeth,
Hi teeny, gladd to see you again. I was worried that you were snowed in in Jersey. WOW, you really got some heavy stuff. The snow that you may get now is from TX - we had it a couple of days ago.

Good to see you !!!!!

@danon5,
Danon and ehBeth:
So glad to hear from both of you. This will be an unforgettable
winter. Funny, opposers to global warming argue why we're getting hit with so many snowstorms, if the earth is heating up? With glaciers melting at a horrific pace, more moisture is being taken up into the atmosphere, resulting in horrendous weather wreaking havoc in so many communities across the US, not just in areas that get their normal share of snow, ice and rain.

As I age, the weather stiffens my joints terribly. To compensate, I prepare
"comfort food" and drink gallons of hot tea and other hot drinks to get us
through an otherwise "cold" time of the year. Watching my weight, I eat and drink just enough to say I've had some of the forbidden treats, with my
sedentary lifestyle, so I get up and WALK! Lost over 10 pounds doing this
and I'm able to have those hearty soups that would thicken my midsection.

I'm in a "happy" place now. Things seem to be falling into place for me
and I don't sweat the dumb stuff, like I used to. Have to go click now!
Great hearing from everyone.

@teenyboone,
And, it's great hearing from you again teeny. Glad to see you "happy" - that's a good place to be.

Happy clicking Wildclickers ------------- even if the acreage saved counter is kaputs on the Care2 site.

The Care2 people tweeked the site - I don't know if anyone noticed -- used to be you could just hit sign-in and it would count as a click. NOW, you HAVE to not only SIGN-IN but, still click to save a tree - only then can you sign-out.
I swear, what will they change next?

@teenyboone,
WOW!! That's stuff made for movies................unreal.

Here IS a funny I heard today on the Nat'l news. You've heard about and all have done call ahead and take-out !!! We all have. Just call ahead and then go pick it up. BUT, two bank robbers moved that to a really different level --- they CALLED a bank and demanded cash and for the tellers to have it ready when they got there!!! True story I saw the thing on TV this morning!! ------------ They showed up and were arrested in the parking lot!!!!!!!!!!
My God!!!

That's today. A few years ago some bank robbers robbed a bank - the usual surprise here I am sort of thing. THEN they ran out the door, jumped into their getaway auto ------ and, drove across the street and started to gas up at a local station right across from the bank. They were arrested while gassing up.

GEESE !! Just how dumb can they be???

Go Wildclickers!!!!!!
