An Albertson's manager said a man attempted to leave the store Dec. 13 with a shopping cart full of choice beef including five 10-pound chubs of meat, two rib-eye roasts, six packages of pork ribs, four sirloin steaks and five packages of chicken breasts.
@dyslexia,
Man, imagine the barbecue he had planned! Nom Noms in deed.
@dyslexia,
I'm assuming he wanted the 10 finger discount?
I once got knocked over by a fleeing thief at a supermarket. Security was chasing him and when he hit me, packages of steak and pork came flying out of his coat and splooched all over the parking lot. The store gave me a gift certificate for my crime fighting abilities... lol
@dyslexia,
I chatted with a security guy at Safeway last week. I just had to find out what he was doing with a scanner on an empty cart. Turns out, they are set up with wheels that lock up if they or their contents are not somehow coded during checkout. I don't know how this works, but you don't get their carts more than about 20' from the door unless they have undergone the checkout or scanning procedure.
