Who are these people who are "willing to leap at people's throats at the slight slant towards Christianity"? I haven't met one.

If haven't met one it's because you are posting on the wrong sites. Would you like a few suggestions? You could just Google "Christian forums" and then you would actually have to debate people. This site has only a moderate to small religious crowd- very few fanatics. Most are live and let live types and don't care to argue about people's personal faith. People come here to talk politics, history, art, music, relationships, a little religious thought etc. and to share odds and ends with a regular core group of members.

@BillRM,
BillRM, has any woman ever told you that you have the personality of a flea that lives under the armpit of a camel? If not, let me be the very first to do so.

I was simply letting Jason know that if he is looking for a lively debate about Jesus with devout Christians there are better places to go than A2K. He was the one complaining about the lack of fire in the discussion, he did not seem to be looking for a chat that even you just rate as "fair".

Every time I look at you
I don't understand
Why you let the things you did
Get so out of hand
You'd have managed better
If you'd had it planned
Now why'd you choose such a backward time
And such a strange land?

If you'd come today
You could have reached the whole nation
Israel in 4 BC had no mass communication
Don't you get me wrong
Don't you get me wrong
Don't you get me wrong, now
Don't you get me wrong
Don't you get me wrong

Tell me what you think
About your friends at the top
Now who d'you think besides yourself
Was the pick of the crop?
Buddah was he where it's at?
Is he where you are?
Could Muhammmed move a mountain
Or was that just PR?
Did you mean to die like that?
Was that a mistake or
Did you know your messy death
Would be a record breaker?

@Merry Andrew,
Thank you, Merry. I've been told I'm a good judge of character - it must have been all those years I worked in corporate sales.

In fact it is not even an interesting fairy tale such as Alice and the looking glass.

For something that you find not to be interesting, you spend a great deal of time discussing it.

What is reason to you can be the opposite to others. When were you appointed to this lofty position?

How in the world can you type something like this and get away with it? "Reason" can't possible be the opposite to others...by definition it is not...only a mad man can say something like that.

You did...as soon as you started you deranged ranting of a ignorant man.

@Jason Proudmoore,
I'm sure it made you feel clever to supply that Sinclair quote (although you'd be wrong about that). However, it is not part of any job i've ever had to understand or fail to understand either the crusading religionist or the crusading atheist (such as you).

Get over yourself, silly boy.

Not just providing the quote that made me feel clever, but talking to someone intellectually circumcised as you.

Wrong about providing the quote or that the quote doesn't apply to you?

You have even failed to understand the context of Sinclair's quote. What to expect from someone who knows nothing about anything?

@Jason Proudmoore,
Wrong that there was anything clever involved. I note that you descend rapidly into personal invective. Don't handle being disagreed with very well, do you?

I understood the Sinclair quote, and that it doesn't apply to me. I also understand that you are a ranting crusader of the atheist religion. You are not actually an atheist so much as you are an anti-theist. You make a religion of your non-religion. It's really rather pathetic.

Thought I was doing a hell of a job.

It does apply to you...read it again. If you want we'll discuss deeply what he meant in the quote.

Atheism is a lack of believe...I thought you knew that.

I'm an atheist nonetheless.

Again, atheism is not a religion...I do not pray to an imaginary friend; there is no dogma or rituals...I do not believe in the supernatural. I thought you knew that, but it seems that I was right about you knowing nothing about anything...you just like the attention.

When I meet people like you I just have the urge of removing the feces festering in your brain and replace it with a clue!

You would need to get a clue before you could provide anyone else with one.

I understood the Sinclair quote, and it doesn't apply to me. I know what atheist means, as well, because that is how a religionist would describe me. I also know that when you attempt to proselytize your lack of belief, it makes you a crusading atheist--you make a religion of your non-belief. It's a very silly activity, but i'm sure it entertains you.

@Jason Proudmoore,
It is atheists, like you, who give atheists a bad name. Fortunately, most atheists quietly go about their day with their lack of believe and let the believing do the same.

You, Jason, are on a one man vendetta to change the minds of people who are much more intelligent and insightful than yourself.

You may come to see that, when you grow up.
