Quote:
If bodies are exposed to electric fans or air conditioners for too long, it causes [the] bodies to lose water and [causes] hypothermia. If directly in contact with [air current from] a fan, this could lead to death from [an] increase of carbon dioxide saturation concentration [sic] and decrease of oxygen concentration. The risks are higher for the elderly and patients with respiratory problems. From 2003 [to] 2005, a total of 20 cases were reported through the CISS involving asphyxiations caused by leaving electric fans and air conditioners on while sleeping. To prevent asphyxiation, timers should be set, wind direction should be rotated and doors should be left open.

I use methamphetamine to regulate my energy flow. I also sleep with my head on the I Ching, but It hasn't effected my appetite.

@tsarstepan,
I suspect it's like the deadly substance found in nearly all American households, even those with young children. It can be fatal in minutes if one inadvertantly holds one's head below the surface. The stuff is so common, some homes have it delivered in pipes, which have been known to leak and even rupture in cold weather.

@roger,
Are we talking about carbon monoxide poisoning? Natural gas poisoning? Really really slow death by radon?

@sozobe,
So...if the rat jumped off a cliff, would you follow him?

@dlowan,
He's a rat, not a lemming.

But I might.

I'd have to think about it.

He's a pretty smart rat, so he may have a good reason. I wouldn't just dismiss it out of hand.

@dlowan,
You have to admit sozobe argues a pretty solid and irrefutable case for her side.
