”1200 watt amplifier” is an insufficient description of your amp. Car Amps make outrageous claims and seldom, if ever, deliver what they claim. If it is extremely high-end, you'll want to match it with a sub that is as well. For the most part, any decent sub will handle any decent amp; just play with the gain until you've established where it sounds best and then behave with the volume knob. You'll hear it when you reach your peek (quality) sound level, and if you don't want to replace your equipment regularly, you'll stop there.
