Making your own picture frame?

I want to get a blank simple picture frame and then somehow carve/write some lyrics into/onto the frame. My handwriting is chicken scratch and i think getting it carved would look better. Does anyone have any ideas that would help me? i.e. where to go, etc?

@brokencdplayer,
I don't know a thing about getting one carved, but don't buy a frame without knowing what it is really made of. The cheaper ones are usually some kind of synthetic stuff covered with a thin, simulated wood grain paper. That kind would look horrible after the first cut.

@brokencdplayer,
try a local craft store
Michaels - The Arts & Craft Store
instead of writing on it, maybe look at some kind of stenciling

check out local thrift stores. the ones around boston have dozens of frames, often quite nice, for a couple or a few bucks each. Print out the lyrics line by line in whatever word processing program you have on your computer. Try doing them in different fonts to get one you like. print them and tape the printout to the frame. using a pin, prick out the outlines of the letters, and you can then experiment andtry your hand at carving by carving around the pinpricks. pick a chunky font that doesn't have finely detailed letters.
