I want to go into the advertising industry no doubt. However, I'm wary on what part of the industry I should focus on.
I want to be placed in a role of the industry based on these attributes.
-Exceptional writing and verbal communication.
-Not afraid to lead a large amount of people.
-I love talking with people and persuading them.
-Advanced at Photoshop.
-Advanced knowledge of computer related technologies as well as video/audio components.
-I can take on tasks that may take days or weeks and work vigorously throughout the project.
-I like working with groups rather than independently, however if necessary I can work alone with no problems.
Finally, I wish to be making near 6-figures at the end of my first 10 years in a career. Any tips on this? Should I stay with one advertising firm or maybe switch to another if an opportunity arises.
[Part 2]
What should I do in college to prepare for this career?
I'm currently planning on:
-Taking up an internship.
-Taking a majority of advertising classes.
-Attending several seminars that will be in the area.
And what can I do to get me into the advertising agency fast after college? Anyway on getting involved with successful advertising agencies?
Six figure income from the advertising field?
Not many can claim that.
Who is making that kind of money in advertising/
@sullyfish6,
I was more implying near 6 figures. 80,000 - 90,000 approx. After doing some research I found that many people, depending on the company you work for, can easily make this.
@Twistedblack,
Sounds like a PR Firm would be a good match for you. Try to take as many
communication courses as possible, ask for an internship in a big PR firm and
take it from there.
