@shewolfnm,
Hi, kiddo, I'm just learning this scanner. I could handle my canon back in the day but I was plotzed about being able to add my old printer, seemed impossible. And if I couldn't even add the printer...
Plus I had some history long ago of hp printer and scanner conflicting.

Anyway, this is an epson, and I'm working on it.

These two letters haven't been in order.

Here's a letter from early '47 and a photo of me on the pony, which was at a small amusement park in what is now right about where the Beverly Center is.
I think my father was in New Mexico then (he knew Oppenheimer and Teller et al, in prep for the bikini bomb tests for which he was head of photo - this is not my favorite subject).

On a lighter note, Rusty was my aunt's dog, and I was the only daughter..

This thread is not supposed to be about matters of war, or even about a spoiled little girl. I think I'll go back and capture some photos from the teens, twenties, and thirties. Eh, why not.

@ossobuco,
Wonderful, osso! I love the photograph of you on the horse. (These old black & white photos are terrific!) & I love the letter from your dad. (I am becoming very fond of your dad! Smile )

@ehBeth,
A magnet of a girl, she was in the movies, but not moi. Not too far away though.

I remember a lot of names and another bunch are on the tip of my tongue.

Wish I'd read the scanner directions more closely to see if I could get things clearer, because the personalities all in a row are so apparent even then. Will try again later.

@littlek,
One earlier, then I'll leave the rest of the 'earliers' for now.

My mother in, I think, 1945:

@shewolfnm,
I can now see this with elder eyes, re abuse talk -- but no, this was the opposite. There was, at least in some areas, a free expression of care back then.
