Sure; better to be honest with them now than have them grow up thinking they are doing it correctly.

It's the same bullshit line I dropped on my mom, regarding the need for legible handwriting, when I was her age. The response I received was remarkably similar, now that I think about it.

Back in the Middle Ages, mothers and fathers would say to their children "why are you talking so weird? I can't understand a word you kids say nowadays"

and the kids would say...."A pox on thee! Doest thou not glean we doth spake to all in the proper fashion? Doesn't thou "get it"?

Then they would roll their eyes and go out to spend time with those whose groins and armpits were swollen, because it would pisseth off their parents.
