Back in the Middle Ages, mothers and fathers would say to their children "why are you talking so weird? I can't understand a word you kids say nowadays"
and the kids would say...."A pox on thee! Doest thou not glean we doth spake to all in the proper fashion? Doesn't thou "get it"?
Then they would roll their eyes and go out to spend time with those whose groins and armpits were swollen, because it would pisseth off their parents.
