well, how can an all loving perfect God condemn someone like me, who is limited in insight and understanding, to hell?
how can God justify that act, when, being all powerful and all knowing, he can understand perfectly my perspective on life and existence, and understand how limited it is?
surly he would take pity on me and sympathise with my limited little mind?
Can God not see reason, or be reasonable?
@existential potential,
I'll put in a good word on your behalf. Perhaps he'll reconsider.
Although if you're a Protestant, there's really no hope for ya . . .
For questioning God, you're going to hell.
First, stop putting all these human qualities on your god.
Second, stop blaming your god for your lot in life.
You are a human being with free will and intelligence. Use both.
@existential potential,
You might enjoy this Dave Allen parody of Ian Paisly (Northern Ireland preacher):
Paisly:
And the sinners shall be cast down into the pit, and they shall gnash their teeth in anguish !
Old Lady from the congregation:
What if you've got no teeth ?
Paisly :
TEETH WILL BE PROVIDED !
@fresco,
loved dave allen as kid, we got replays of the show in canada in the late 70's early 80's

The concept of God is the ultimate straw-man.
I am a Buddhist. If we are in hell then it's because we put ourselves there.
Not all Christians agree to the catholic version of hell. Some think dead is dead. Some think only Satan will be tormented forever.
Mind you, I've asked the same question of christians myself.

Who care as on it face it is a complete fairy tale?
@BillRM,
Obviously, as you are posting, you do.
Really, why would anybody have to ask such a dumb question? Someone or some source that is "unloving" has nothing to do with God.
We can, i take it, consider you to be an expert on the subject 0f "god?" Why should we believe that?
@Setanta,
Ya
gotta believe, Set. It's all about faith!
@Pemerson,
I would refer you back to the old testament story where God, through Elijah sent a pack of she bears to rip children to pieces (their 'sin' was to call a man an 'old baldy')
There there was the great flood.
And Sodom and Gommorah (or however you pronounce the last)
And Lot's wife that God turned to a pillar of salt (her 'sin' was to turn her head sideways)
And Job, where God consented to his torture.
@vikorr,
Vikorr, I have never thought it was "God" who did all those horrible things. Use your imagination - if it wasn't God, who did it? I no longer read the "Bible."
