I just got a visit from Bodhi and my husband! They left yesterday and I already miss them. I am in Houston for business until December 31 and they are still in Dallas. Luckily i grew up here and get to stay with my parents, so it's like an extended family reunion.

The reason I am posting all of this here is that my parents just adopted a new doggie. Well, actually they rescued her and she adopted them. Isn't that how it usually happens? They were riding their motorcycles on the back roads behind their neighborhood. My mom passed her lying in a ditch and she turned around and went back to see her. I'll just let the pics do the description...

I have never seen a dog so skinny and still be alive. Her name is Sweetie, and she really is. She is eating and pooping regularly. My parents took her to the vet yesterday and she has intestinal worms, heart worms, fleas and is obviously mal-nourished. We are working on the intestinal worms and fattening her up first and then we'll take a look at the heartworm problem. I have heard that there has been pretty big advances in heartworm treatments, and that they are not quite so much a death sentence anymore. Is this true? I dearly hope so.

We tried to include Lilly in the annual Christmas picture. This is the very first
picture and she barely tolerated the red scarf - afterwards she went berserk and we had to remove the scarf. I guess there is a little bull in her...

@CalamityJane,
Laughing
Perhaps Lilly wanted a more Christmasy scarf? Wink That scarf looks a little too rodeo-ie!

Apropos fashion - Lilly got a new bed, but she's not so sure of it...

Yeah, Lilly is a character!

Pistol and Biscuit are cute too - they seem content and happy, and they're
both so shiny and clean.

@CalamityJane,
Pacco had a tag like Biscuit's...

slight change of subject - do you save any of your bygone dog's tags?

@ossobuco,
Yeah, we have tags like these too - they're from the animal licensing department. No, I never kept the dog tags of any of my dogs - I have plenty
of pictures and good memories - plus tons of pee stains on the carpet Laughing

@CalamityJane,
I've saved them from two dogs - my husband agreed with me to save Kelly's lead and collar and tags, and when he ex'd they were part of his stuff. He trained the dog and ran with him a lot, very attached.
And I still have some of the Pacc's stuff, I'm a sentimental maroon.
