Note: Calling them cute dogs in a music video is quite redundant.

Morgan has been out for the last 4 hours looking for the dogs. He came home and found a portion of the fence torn down, had to be the larger dog Frankie, he’s well over a hundred pounds. No fence is going to keep them in, he's too strong, he’s going to have to think about some type of brick wall.

@ehBeth,
He’s had the fence rebuilt in ten different places, they always find a way to get out. It’s going to take a brick wall to keep Frankie in.

Ever consider a well secured dig trolley?

@tsarstepan,
He may have to consider something like that. The fence is too high for them to jump over. The ground here is sand; even with cement around the fence posts Frankie can still pull them out of the ground.

He’s home with both dogs, thank god, he would have died tonight if he hadn’t found them. Ten blocks down the street at the dog park where we occasionally take them.

@MMarciano,
Thank goodness he found them. There is nothing worse than not knowing where your pets are and what happened to them.....
Are they both neutered? Most of the time they mellow out once they're neutered, so if they're not, you should consider that first.

@CalamityJane,
Oh yeah, they both have been fixed. Ever since the one night Mac got out they both have been trying to escape. We're lucky because there are some very busy streets in this neighborhood. Frankie is very protective of his yard. If a squirrel runs across the top of the fence he charges it throwing his weight and actually knocking the squirrel off the fence and caught a few doing so.

You could try one of those electric fences. I've got a coonhound (better known as an escape artist) I've seen him climb over my 6 foot fence... The electric fences works and they don't hurt the dogs. http://www.canadapets.com/wireless_fence.htm

@Ceili,
Thanks Cheili, he’s going to have to come up with something, either the electric fence or he’s going to have to have a brick wall built. He rescued the larger dog Frankie from the shelter, he was six months old and the shelter found him roaming the streets with two other dogs, someone had abandoned them, so he’s use to being free.

He’s such a lover. I call him a big goof ball, all he wants is a hug but he’s so big and heavy he will actually knock you down, and he’s very protective of Antonio, wouldn’t dare jump on him, and he’s knows when Antonio is playing in his yard, Frankie is constantly looking around watching for anything that even comes close to coming in Antonio’s yard. .

@Rockhead,
They ignore the tortoises, too big and hard for them to play with.

@MMarciano,
There are far stronger fences than think I saw you had, and strong fences can also be built over major strong foundations - but I agree you guys might as well go for a wall, because of being in a hurricane zone besides the weight of the big dog.

A super strong fence would likely jar with the less weighty construction of the arbor, etc., whereas the brick look wouldn't.

The wall can be block (cells filled with concrete and rebar) on a concrete foundation with heft and rebar, with a brick face (veneer or full brick). Ahem - I'll mention contacting a civil engineer for a consult given the sand problem, and what is reasonable to do and what might be overdoing it.
I don't know how they build walls in Florida, I'm used to building re earthquakes.

@ossobuco,
I agree they do need a wall. We talked to a friend, who works at the kennel where Morgan got both dogs; he seems to think the dogs are bored. Morgan doesn’t have the time to spend with them since Antonio and I moved in. Morgan has been busy with work since his boss passed away and most of the free time he has he spends with Antonio. We both need to spend more time with them, they are wonderful dogs and they love Antonio, when my son is in his back yard both dogs are watching him like a hawk, I pity the squirrel that tries sneaking in Antonio’s yard.
