@maporsche,
Look, even Roy Halladay bounces pitches. Who cares? The President clearly doesn't know how to throw a baseball.

He's only good for running countries and **** like that.

@Gargamel,
I said in a previous post that I'm glad he throws like a girl because he shouldn't be wasting his time doing crap like this, and he better not have done any practicing. The economy is crumbling, he doesn't need to be working on his pitching mechanics.

@maporsche,
Obama did just fine.

He saves his heat for when it counts-- like getting a decent health care bill passed.

That remains to be seen (I mean weather it's decent or not, I'm sure something will be passed).

And I concur, again.

But you HAVE to admit that if the catcher didn't save him (and was in the correct position), he would have bounced it.

Honestly, the catcher saves EVERY pitch from ending up in the dirt.

Well, those that aren't hit, and those that aren't impossible to catch.

This is really a pathetic attempt to run someone down. Obama isn't a professional baseball player. Big deal. I bet the folks whining about his athletic prowess would make really poor Constitutional Law professors.....

How Obama performed at the All Star Game has nothing to do with his ability to run this country, and I've yet to see a post in this thread that suggests it does.

How Obama performed at the All Star Game has very little to do with his character other that his ability to withstand pressure (already demonstrated in numerous prior occassions), and I have yet to see a post in this thread suggest otherwise.

What I have seen and what I fully expected is a number of posts rushing to his defense and castigating the mean-spirited and vacuous folks that make light of his performance. Smile

BTW - Nothwithstanding the decree of the omniscient Jon Stewart, he did bounce it.

You will note that the ball did not in fact bounce, so what you say is erroneous, John.

If you were less mean-spirited and less vacuous, you might avoid being castigated altogether.

@Cycloptichorn,
The issue here lies in the meaning of the word "bounce"-- which, up to this point, I had always assumed meant that the ball actually touched the ground. I don't think that Finn is arguing that the ball touched the ground (it clearly didn't)... it is more of the meaning of the ball drifted toward the ground.

Let's just say you are both right... the ball bounced (in the sense that it drifted toward the ground under the power of the gravity)... and it didn't bounce (in the sense that it never touched the ground).

Now let's get back to discussing whether Obama is an American citizen.

I think they let the whole "terrorist fist bump" thing go far too easily. They might have something there...

What did you expect?
Obama is a limp-wristed liberal and "OK" is acceptable performance.

GW Bush threw an outstanding fast ball strike and he was wearing body armor.

@H2O MAN,
When Geroge W Bush wasn't starting illegal wars he was watching gay German porn.

Also, OK is waaaaaaaaaaay better than WORST EVER.

And what you came here looking for and what you started the thread for, right? Someone as sophisticated as you can surely think of deeper topics to start if he's looking for something other than the entertainment of receiving an expected reaction.

I've started plenty of deeper threads and got the same reaction.

Politicians are fair game for ribbing, if we can't make fun of Obama's throw or Bush's mad Segway skills then what will late night comedy have to turn to?
