Tonight we had steaks, scalloped potatoes with cheese, sauteed asparagus and mushrooms and a white bordeaux. It is certainly strong enough for the steak and it's TOO HOT to drink red.
Mmmm. It's been forever since I've had scalloped potatoes.
We're working on a second bottle of pinot grigio. I prefer reds (and have no interest in anal sex no matter how beautiful she is) but this is a good wine for the evening.

It is never too hot to drink red wine. Of course, last night was cool, a nice breeze blowing across the deck.
We watched the fireworks bursting in air over Yonkers and Rye (we think) some twenty miles away.
The distant darkened hills of Van Cortland Park touched with bright jewelry.
Although I am a red wine drinker...after a grueling hot day a cold chilled white is refreshing. squinney and Ihad intentions of going to watch fireworks earlyin the day... by mid afternoon that changed to sitting on the deck drinking wine and listening tomusic....by dark it turned into just the wine...by shortly after dark it turned into sound sleep without even getting undressed for bed...
