I don't know what the process is in the US - but you can probably get that information on the net - it's copyright that you're after, I think.

This earth
This sky
This land can heal
Wounds carried for centuries
On broken backs
This day
This field of wheat
These trees
Listen to the smallest heartbeat
And nurture it
Under these stars
I can feel hope
And I embrace it

Oh to be the bird with the sweet voice in the willow
With the sun going high o'er the great green meadow
I'd sing all the day long and beyond the evening shadows
Aiming the notes at hearts like the tips of kind and deadly arrows

I'd sing for the ones with no notes in their hearts to sing
And for the ones in despair who may have lost everything
My song would touch the ears of the low and the lowly
Of naked children who age so fast and then die so slowly

You would hear me sing through the walls of any fortress oh
With the leaders inside and the youth under heavy duress oh

All dogs on chains lose their bark for the song's this moving
At last the barker of war grieves the lives that they're losing
And as the cheaters of thoughts and the stealers of life
Confront their own tears the reality cuts in like a carving knife

Oh to be the bird with the sweet voice in the willow
With the sun going high o'er the great green meadow
I'd sing all the day long and beyond the evening shadows
Aiming the notes at hearts like the tips of kind and deadly arrows

Fox at Dusk

Half moon evening
Three fields from home
air stilled and silent
night's falling alone
Gliding through grasses
waist-high, wet with
dew toward
light and warmth
and hours and sleep.
A fox skirts
the fence line
pauses, head turned,
and sensing
you sighting him, startles
a wavering flame-
pure russet flash
against centuries-old unset
columns of stone
through darkening grasses
which part as he passes
part ghost, apparition
he's revealed- stealing home.

not quite spontaneous- I edited the title and the last few lines.

he walked in and the room lit up
they dont understand him
he doesnt give a f***
shoulda known not to mess with him
he told me to come closer, and i fell right in
had me under the thumb
my fault for bein so dumb
coz they warned me
the other girls from before
when they saw me
entranced on the dance floor
now he's bored
afraid
or both
coz he swore that he dont wanna see me no more

It's not my problem . let the city have um...
Let them rot

12 dead babies fall from the sky.
break the back of mothers that fail.
spineless are they that waste the eye.
crack open their skull and trade the wail.

12 mothers fall from the sky.
they land on guilt and graves that chime
I kick your teeth, emotions so high
so sad for you you have no time.

I cut your skin as do all
pouring out is greed and smoke
who cares we die after all
just to pay for one more toke

Rot in ...........

What are you longing for
I'll hitch it to a shining star
Alone you only go so far
Hey you're all I'm living for

If you want a helping hand
A someone to share the plan
I could be your right hand man
Be there when you make your stand

Or if you just want to earn applause
Turn your back to the righteous cause
It's not against any witness clause
You're not breaking any modern laws

I will be there for you
Any time you want me to
I'll always care for you
I'll always care for you

What are you crying for
I love you like a movie star
But I'm not here to fight a war
If you're not ready to bear the scar

I would be there for you
Any time you want me to
I'll always care for you
I'll always care for you

So before I post my poem, I have to tell you that I enjoy and mirror the e. e. cummings style of writing as it makes the most "sense" to me as what poetry is supposed to be.

The particular poem reflects many people's lack of a desire to do anything with their life:
A very pessimistic outlook on life.

as I sit in my easychair
waiting
the sun-lit patterns on the carpet
fade
evening is coming

it seems only a few seconds
as I sit there
waiting
but before me my whole life
fades
night is coming

i hear the street cleaner
i am still quite awake
waiting
in extremety I find myself
fading
morning is coming

yhe day is crowded
but I don't know what lays beyond
waiting
waiting is all I know
a deep sigh escapes my lungs
i fade
the day is passed.

The large room was cold, dark, and cryptlike
but it wasn't in a church.
The candles and incense were only memories.
Somewhere in my head a men's choir chanted
Ubi caritas et amor Deus ibi est.
Nothing else has echoes like that kind of room.

This Is Not The End

This is not the end
I know it isn't
Maybe you've won
But my battles haven't begun
More bodies on your side
More love more hate
More feelings on your side
But whoever started the play?

I had my fun
but i know this is not the end
First I'll set your dreams ablaze
Then I'll blood your eyes
I'll take away all that love
in the tornado you'll evaporate...

All of you will fade away
Gripping life like falling teardrops
There's yet a price to pay
All silly hopes lost

But this...
This is your temporary victory
This is not the end...

(just thinking of joining the other side Twisted Evil )

Lip-back braying
as the bones break.

There's never enough
humanity
when you need it.

But what I want to know is
who told the Myrmidons
it was Stab One Get One Free Day?

PATHETIC FALLACY

it's raining, it's pouring,
but nobody's snoring.
there's thunder and lightning,
but nobody's frightened.
it's cold, almost snowing,
but you'd never know it,
because when you're dead inside
you don't really notice the weather.

creativity is nill
i wish it came in a pill
the striving and effort
just don't seem worth it
4000 words for tomorrow
doesn't seem possible
existential musings were behind me
till this assignment was in front of me
life's no treat
when there's deadlines to meet

i heard from hank williams
he was held over in heaven
and his voice was whiskey dry

his latest songs of sadness
touched by a preaching of gladness
when it ended i had to sigh

i was a boy of just eleven
when they took poor hank williams
to a morgue in 53

but i sing to every song
they play its been so long
hank is still living to me
