there were no posts after it when I read 'Brother'

I was responding solely to the poem because I really was taken with it - maybe because I supplied the word : )

i rock alone
when the big time stars
have all gone home
call me on the phone
when you see their cars
have left and gone
ill tell you that i love you
but dont come around tonight
its not that i dont want you
im like a bad dog that bites

hey jude
where are you now
its been a long time
i wrote this letter
i tried to tell you
my life is better
the words you sang
went into my heart
and they did start to be better

thanks jude
for peerless times
we acted as we listened
we crossed the threshold
we were the generation
the timid went bold
the songs you gave us
had helped to save us
they made our lives so much better

The Super Market...

Pricecheck on aisle 7!!
The chocolate bars need packing
Knock off at 11
But now the wine cases need stacking

Homeless man walks in and smells like 3 day old pork crackling
Quick hurry, call the police, call the police, Murray!!
So police come and take the homeless man and 'place' him into paddywagon after giving him good head smacking

Now this thread had fallen so far down
That I thought I'd bring back up this stuff
Lest it be forgotten and drown
In threads of philosophic fluff

Religious banter also hides
The words as well we know them
But now when I log on I find
The thread spontaneous poems

So long as Edgar is profound
and sprinkles pearly words around,
never fear lest our interest wane
be sure, it forever will remain

skirting my life
the truth at hand
was i a lucky man

who saw that strife
like a thorny crown
a crutch to weigh me down

as i
realize
the truth
the real prize
inside
i wear
like a humble robe
dear you go your way
if it takes you home
here we'll stay
and i will burn the crown
and all will be serene
once more

i hear the slow lost piano
i hear your shaded voice
come into my old room
as though i have no choice

wending through
like a corkscrew
worming into my heart

nutballs
got to fall
can you hear the squall
storming through
vast and true

nutjobs
got to bob
a cork in the sob
of crying rain
die in vain

keepers of thoughts and fears
rustle among crowds silently at tables
sit tallying arrears
