I have made about 20 phone calls to Verizon since my line was severed. They tell me someone will be out in about an hour. I have been hearing that story since Tuesday. Anybody sign up with their cable company for telephone service?????....I wonder if that would be better.

@Sglass,
I had to report them to the Maryland Public Service Commission to get the problem resolved and when the tech finally came out on Saturday, he told my husband that he believes it's nonsense to wait a month to get your service up and running. Apparently all he does is repair severed buried wires.

@glitterbag,
Most work can be done out of their central office without a house visit.

Glad they finally got it fixed. Next time they give you a fit ask for the number of Executive Appeal which you should still do. Did they give you a rebate for the time you were without service?
