@msolga,
I think the quality of laptop is better than desktop,especially ThinkPad,fusion.Their life is longer than others.I have a laptop which is used for 5 years and it still work well.I suggest you buy a second-hand laptop,but not too old.

@msolga,
msolga- If you are going to use the computer at home, and have the space, I think that a desktop is the better option. I would suspect that for the same amount of money, you could get more value from a good used desktop.

I have a six year old Dell XP. I will keep it until it dies. It is built like a brick you-know-what.

@Phoenix32890,
Not forgetting to mention that desktops can be more easily upgraded in the future in the hard drive and chip departments as well as the graphic cards and DVD drives, etc....

@Phoenix32890,
Thanks, Phoenix & tsar for your comments.
I decided on a desktop. (Which has been a pretty good little performer!)
This is thread is from last year, when I was deciding which to choose.
