Around 1999 - 2000, me and my stepson used to play a game on Playstation. In the game, you were a magician or a warrior (you could choose from a handful of characters to play - all had different main powers), and you traveled through different terrains, battling different creatures and things. Every once in a while, you'd discover a hidden runestone. the object was to find all the runestones, and then do battle with the big, major demon at the end of the game.
Anyone remember what that game was? I'd like to find a PC version of it.

Thanks alot for your suggestion guys, but that isn't the game.
I remember a lot of battle... one particular fun setting had the hero in a frigid landscape battling hordes of creatures...
You could increase the strength of your 'spells' by surviving and I think you collect money and other goodies...
