well i have an xbox360 and wen i tried to connect to live the Ip address didn't work.i typed in my ip from my computer now it gets the Ip address but now it says it needs the Dns.how can i get that to connect to xbox live using Dsl connection,please help
Using the IP address from your computer may cause problems if both are connected at the same time. Usually, you set the router to distribute IPs through DHCP to avoid this.
As to your DNS servers, your router can also be configured to supply them automatically, but if you'd like to do it manually, you can find out what DNS servers you are using by doing the following:
1) Go to start (or the windows orb in vista)
2) Click "Run" and type cmd and press enter
4) In the command line, type the following and press enter:
ipconfig /all
Doing this should list a lot of information, including the IP addresses to the DNS servers you use.
