I'd give Mame a well-deserved standing oviation, but the factory equipment I need for that has been removed. Is it okay if I just make a funny grin and add some odd noises instead?
Mame, I'll be reconnected to the internet in a week and then you're on for yet another Scrabble game on FB, you brainiac.
BFN - you're on and odd noises are just fine.
Eva - backatcha.
Reyn - I miss BC!!!
Izzie - merci, merci
I find her mind much the most interesting aspect of Mame.
@dyslexia,
Have been Mame's secret admirer for years, an eloquent lady with a heart of gold. Nice to see her get some well deserved kudo's in this forum.
@chai2,
Quote:mame, let me tell you something....
you got what men want.
But the
real reason for giving Mame a standing ovation is because ... well, she knows what
Mame wants & needs .... & seems to always find a way, despite some pretty tough things going on in her life, at times!
My hat is off to you, Mame!
@msolga,
.... in other words, Mame, I admire your resilience, your courage, your intelligence & your ability to get on with life (no matter what has happened)!
Good on you!
@msolga,
I will mention that after receiving some totally irrelevant directions, Mame was able to follow me through traffic, in a strange town, and in an unfamiliar car. Didn't look the least bit flustered when it was over. Mame is okay.
Mame does need to understand that the jazz boys are big on improvisation and that's why that guy left his email addy.
Here's what she'll sing to get that standing ovation, y'all.

As another a2ker would have observed: Holds her dominion.
@edgarblythe,
I like her taste in colours and music! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahaha
<pass the paintbrush - ooops.... >
MAME lyrics Chorus:
You coax the blues right out of the horn, Mame,
You charm the husk right off of the corn, Mame,
You've got that banjoes strummin'
And plunkin' out a tune to beat the band,
The whole plantation's hummin'
Since you brought Dixie back to Dixie land.
You make the cotton easy to pick, Mame,
You give my old mint julep a kick, Mame,
Who ever thought a Yankee would put
A little Dixie mouse to shame.
You've made us feel alive again,
You've given us the drive again,
To make the South revive again, Mame.
Beauregard Burnside:
You've brought the cake-walk back into style, Mame
You make the weepin' willow tree smile, Mame,
Your skin is Dixie satin,
There's rebel in your manner and your speech,
You may be from Manhattan,
But Georgia never had a sweeter peach.
All:
You make our black-eyed peas and our grits, Mame,
Seem like the bill of fare at the Ritz, Mame,
You came, you saw, you conquered
And absolutely nothing is the same.
You're special fascination'll prove to be inspirational,
We think you're just sensational, Mame.
Since you brought Dixie back to Dixie land.
Since you brought Dixie back to Dixie land.
You coax the blues right out of the horn, Mame,
You charm the husk right off of the corn, Mame,
You've got that banjoes strummin'
And plunkin' out a tune to beat the band,
The whole plantation's hummin'
Since you brought Dixie back to Dixie land.
You make the cotton easy to pick, Mame,
You give my old mint julep a kick, Mame,
Who ever thought a Yankee would put
A little Dixie mouse to shame.
You've made us feel alive again,
You've given us the drive again,
To make the South revive again, Mame.
Mame! Mame! Mame! Mame!
you guys! now you have me squirming. but thank you. And I just love that Mame song, don't you?
@Mame,
Is it okay to sit down now?
