Hey, they're FBI agents. Not Postal Carriers. Besides, most terrorists are from hot countries and would never attack on a snow day.

I saw absolutely no evidence in this article that giving employees a day off had any impact on national security. This makes me think this whole issue is trivial, hysterical and sensationalized-- par for the course with the post.

It would be nice if the New York Post took more snow days.

((I have heard that FBI agents never take sick days or family leave!))

At least, they don't take them all on the same day.

@ebrown p,
And I agree it's definitely more of a public relations problem than a security problem.

I was just amused.

@DrewDad,
I don't think it is a public relations problem either (nor should it be).

The FBI is an employer (much like any other employer). Employers give their employees days off for all sorts of reasons. As far as a snow day, there are plenty of factors involved in this decision. For example, if a snow emergency happens here, at times the mayor will request all companies to keep their employees home... this makes it easier for emergency vehicles and cleanup as well.

My company has a list of "essential personnel"... people who know their responsibility to keep things running. I assume that people working on essential cases at FBI did the same.

This is a non-story.
