Is anyone familiar with a good, reasonably priced CAD program for drawing house plans? My guess is that a dedicated program would suit me best but if there are good multi-function programs, I'd like to hear about them too.

@JTT,
What do you consider "reasonably priced?"
I have version11 of TurboCad Pro that does most of what I need done. I got an earlier version (6?) on sale and then do an upgrade every so often for a couple of hundred bucks. The new full version runs about $1200.

TurboCad Deluxe is currently selling for about $130. It looks like it will actually do 3D.

The 2D program "Designer" is going for about $40

When you click on a product then check the links. Many of the products allow you to download it for a free trial.

Also check out ebay. Often older versions are for sale there.

@JTT,
No, but it is perfectly capable of doing it.

It does have symbols and 3d objects for doing house plans.

@parados,
Thanks Parados and Region Philbus.

Would it be a good idea to get a new, in the box older version, [at least that's what the ebay ads say], eg, Turbocad Version11 to see if it fills my needs. Can I then upgrade from any older version?

@JTT,
Sometimes its cheaper to buy old versions new and upgrade. The only way to know is check the price of upgrade and the old software compared to buying new.
