I injured my Achilles Tendon a while ago which has left me with a slight foot drop on my right side. I have searched the internet to find suggestions to help with this but I haven't really found anything. Does anyone know of a really good site which can help with sports injuries or similar? Or does anyone have some advice they can give?

First, I recommend going to a doctor.

Second, I recommend staying off of your foot.

Third, I recommend introducing stretching and lifting weights gradually as the AT heals.

Fourth, I recommend introducing walking/running gradually.

@jane567,
First, like Maporsche, I recommend going to a doctor.

Second, I recommend going to a doctor.

Third, I recommend going to a doctor.

And fourth...well you know...going to a doctor would not be a bad idea.

@jane567,
I was in a similar situation many years ago. For me, it turned out that my achilles tendon was almost torn completely...only a few strands of connection left.

See a doctor and find out what your situation is and don't guess or put it off.

After the MDs feel the tendon, they will x-ray or do an MRI. Only then will they know for sure what the status is. If it's torn ..even partially, the longer you walk on it, the worse it will get. If torn, you'll need to be off that foot for 4-6 weeks to allow it to heal properly (if lucky) or have it surgically repaired if torn as bad as mine was.

Climbing stairs was murder when it's torn..you just can not push off..and hurts like hell.

@jane567,
Foot drop is nothing to screw around with.
There may be more to this than just the achilles tendon injury.
So let me join the chorus of those recommending a visit to the doctor.

You should heed my advice carefully because my cousin is an orthopaedic
surgeon and we used to hang out together a lot.
