Cadillac has smoke under hood after starting for 10 seconds

How did it smell. Electrical, maybe like burning oil, squirrel, or what? With luck, it was just an oil leak that managed to get onto a hot exhaust manifold. Squirrels don't usually heat up that quick.

I doubt its anything burning from the heat of the engine. 10 seconds is not long enough for the engine to heat up sufficiently.

A cold start could see unburnt combustion gasses leaking though.

Might just be condensation evaporating off the exhaust manifold.

It wont be wise to say anything without having a view of the issue. Consult the professionals once.

After 5 YEARS, the thread author has probably sold the Caddy, bought himself a Prius, wears coconut fibre sandals, taken up yogic levitation and lives solely on a diet of Tofu and sunflower seed.

Ah, the days when people could own a Caddy and produce great clouds of smoke without a shred of guilt. All gone.
