Butterfly chair/sphere chair hybrid thingy....

Reply Sun 25 Jan, 2009 01:47 pm
I have seen chairs that are more substantial than either butterfly or sphere chairs but I don't know the name of them so I can't find one.

The frame looks similar to a butterfly chair but the sling part it padded. The chairs fold up for easy storage.

Does anyone have any idea what these chairs are called?

Thanks!

Actually, I need some comfyish easy to get rid of chairs. I've sat in these hybrid chairs before and they weren't too bad.

@boomerang,
If you're thinking of buying anything like that, make sure you test-drive one with at least one person who weighs more than 150 pounds. They can be a bit deep and tricky to get out of, even for the outrageously lithe and spry.

I've got one that looks SPECTACULAR and is comfy to sit in, but not many people can easily get out of it without a helping heave.

Here's something with a bit more of a formal look if you want to go in that direction.

Good point, ehBeth!

The ones I saw were similar to that first one butterflynt posted but were not so retro -- a little more urban, I guess would be then word.

The rooms in our house are smallish and some are muti-purpose; they're really hard to furnish. I'm thinking something like this might work....
