Anyone Have experience with Magic Jack?

For a minute, I thought you were flashing back to your youth....


But a shirt-tail relative reported success in using it in Nicaragua, of all places.

I was a bit afraid to google that...

... and then a bit disappointed when I got the results.

Like anything there seem to be pros and cons.

Here's a testimony that is a pretty strong 'con' and strikes a responsive chord with me since we've run into similar kinds of problems after responding to television or radio infomercials:

Love magic jack have it for a year or so and used it for long distance calls often.

Some nosies and drop connections, normal however when dealing with any voices over the internet systems.

I used it in Cancum to call back home for free and in that case it was a delight.

Not something I would wish to used as my only phone connection but it save me enough to pay for itself in a few months.
