I agree. Dont judge by race but what kind of job he does while in office. I will know that race is no longer an issue when both white and black dont refer to it.

The thing is, Obama is both white and black. So we can all take pride in him!

One of the things I admire most about Obama is that, although he has great confidence and dignity, he is still humble enough to consider opinions different from his own and give them his full consideration. He looks at both sides.

Maybe the fact that he is of mixed race has something to do with that.

Just a thought.

There is little chance of that happening in the USA,. Linkat. however, it would appear that some European Countries, because of almost UNRESTRICTED IMMIGRATION, are likely to become Muslim in this century. Of course, the reason is that the Islamic tradition is to have large families.

I would suggest that you read Mark Styne's "America Alone". In it, he sketches the probabilites that European countries would be ruled by Muslims soon.

A quote from his book-P. xxv is instructive.

"Perhaps the differences will be minimal. In France the Catholic churches will become mosques; in England the village pubs will cease serving alcohol, the gay nightclubs will close up shop and relocate to San Francisco, But otherwise life will go on much as before"

Those who bemoan the fate of the murderous fanatics in Gitmo are unaware that, even though we have treated them with kid gloves,if they were to take over our c0untry, our freedoms would vanish. Freedom of religion would become a joke, no one would be allowed to drink a beer and the gays in SanFrancisco would be decapitated at will.

Tony Dungy caused a lot of discussion when he won the Super Bowl in 2007, being the first African American NFL coach to do so. 2 years later, Mike Tomlin may become the second (hope not -- go Cardinals!), but there hasn't been much, if any, talk about his race.

Yeah, just look at all the "Hate the Irish" groups there are in the US. Now, just take one state, CA, and see just how comfortable a Black person should feel in their own country.

Why, recently, during President Clinton's Administration, only 493 African-Americans in the United States scored above 700 on the math section of the SAT.

This racist society( which, as you note, does not allow a Black person to feel comfortable in their own country) does, however( to show that they are not REALLY biased) allow 13,000 Asians to score above 700 on the math section of the SAT during the same year.

What you will never read( or, perhaps you will now since President Obama is at the head of our country) is that racism has kept millions of schools where blacks are in the majority to get the best teachers, funding, curriculum, etc.

We really need no list of skin-heads to destroy African-American hopes!

Similarly, according to Herrnstein and Murray, in "The Bell Curve", the usual answer to the question of black and white difference in IQ measures, is that the black mean is commonly given as 85 and the white mean is 100. However,this finding cannot, according to a large array of scientific studies, mean that the IQ measure stems from basic racial differences in intelligence, it comes from societal factors.

There is a large group who feel, and with good reason,that the academic levels achieved by blacks as a whole are much lower than the average because of endemic racism. Some charge that African-Americans are condemned to attend inferior schools. Some say that the reactions of the rest of society to black people makes for hopelessness and rebellion.

Others say that the victimology which is acquired by African-Americans militates against any true gains that might be made by most of the group.

Whatever the reason,African-Americans must do everything they can to show that their pride in Barack Obama leads them to turn their backs on the race merchants who must continue to convince them that their attempts in racist America are useless.
