These lists are re-cycled every 6 years (the 1997 list will be reused in 2003).

It's actually:

The Six-Year List of Names for Atlantic Storms. This is divided into 6 years and the names are used in rotation.

There are two other list of different names for Eastern North Pacific and Central Pacific Tropical Cyclone Storms.

Max, another good idea, but not the Shmendrick I'm looking for.

It looks like you are on the horns of a dilemma if you can't find my Shmendrick.

fealola, I've got to stop giving you clues that you cleverly discover my topic.

Shmendrick is the name of the magician in Peter S. Beagle's "The Last Unicorn." He was a rather incompetent and obscure wizard.

I wonder if Beagle chose the name for the "insignificant" connotation.

Shmendrick means an insignificant person. It often is used to describe a
child as a rascal or "little devil." For example, "My grandson, the shmendrick, has me wrapped around his little finger."

Gene Green boasts that he doesn't need anyone from louisiana to translate Cajun for him because the Cajuns in Texas speak Cajun as well as Spanish.

The following is the page of this quote, but it can't be copied and transferred here.

Beacon Rock stands 848 feet above the mighty and majestic Columbia River, in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge.  Beacon Rock is the second largest monolith in the Northern Hemisphere, Gibraltar being the first.
