dodge 4x4 not going into 4x til warmed up

My Durango for the last couple of weeks will not shift
into or out of 4 wheel drive until it is very warmed up
often about 10 -15 mins of driving, once warmed up it will
shift like normal, until it gets cold again when I need it to
work right then.
