Ok, I must get off to the shops; but you all know that I'll be back to reply in twelve or fifteen minutes, if I sprint, don't you?

Here's the pic, although small. Couldn't get the larger one. Anyway, that looks a bit like me.

It's the same picture, but it's slightly bigger, isn't it? You have a graceful beauty, don't you Dev? I love the picture of Jo; do you know that Jo was by far my favourite character? I haven't read that book for nineteen years; but I remember her, and aren't you lucky to be related to her emotionally? And isn't it weird how 20 minutes away from A2K can seem like a lifetime? Agh, I was caught in a deluge (by UK standards,) and now I'm trying to dry my dress and jacket by the fire... boring, isn't it? Though, am I alone in liking the rain?

Do you know, Osso, until I saw it just now again, I saw no likeness? But I know that Jane was a hard worker and wrote every day, didn't she? Is it possible the likeness is only physical? And how kind of dev to say I'm better in modern dress, isn't it? Could it be that colour is important?

And dev, that picture of Jo is quite charming, isn't it? Are there any more alter egos that you can think of for the people posting here? What would Rod's be, do you think?

Since he's off playing golf today, could it be this dashing specimen?

Aren't you kind, drom-/Ana! I identify with Jo definitely. I'm trying to get my 10-yr.-old daughter, Lauren Grace to read 'Little Women' too. She's a fantastic reader, the spirit just hasn't moved her to read it yet. Can't wait to share it with her.

I'm glad you enjoyed the pic, Clary! Do you have other alter egos? Don't I also identify with Lucy (VanPelt of Peanuts fame), and of course, Tigger.
Hmmm. alter egos for others? Don't I think that would be fun? I'm not sure about Rod yet, how 'bout we come up with alters for, let's say, ehBeth?! Won't I have to think about that one for a bit?

Should I be startled to see what is going on here?
Should I tell you that I am not nearly as tall and elegant as I would like to be? Or should I let you figure it out?

She'll love it, don't you think? Is it your favourite from her books? When was it that you first read it, dev? Isn't it truly ironic that Alcott got fame from writing about children when she personally disliked them? Wonders never cease, do they?

What has your daughter read that she enjoyed? Isn't it wonderful to stumble upon a classic at that age? And, I'll have to think about alteregos for a minute, ok?

I wonder who Fealola would be?

Oh, talking about characters with whom we all related; who have you found in literature that you completely disagree with or can't associate with at all?

At the risk of being ridiculed, can I ask the birthdays and years of ehbeth and fealola, or if you know them, your sun and moon signs? Because it's likely you could identify with someone of the same disposition, isn't it? Did you know you could find out your sun/moon combination from a website whose address I'm not allowed to post, but for which you could google?

Have I stumbled into Alter Ego Land? I've never read Little Women; does that put me in the minority here?

Should I tell Clary that my birthday is in less than 3 weeks?

Should I tell her that a clue to my year of birth is in the 25 years married thread?

It's called metamaze, isn't it? Less than three weeks so maybe you're another Gemini like Drom, ehbeth? Wordgames are a speciality of Geminis, don't you think?

Ana, I think Little Women is my favorite of her books & maybe just because I read it first. I was about 10, like my daughter. & I didn't know she didn't like kids. You wouldn't know it from reading Little Men.
Lauren loves to read everything! from Harry Potter to those 'girlie' little girl book series books like Babysitter's club. She is a voracious reader. Novels she's read include: Heidi, Around the World in 80 Days, Oliver Twist... there's more, but I just can't remember!

I've not posted on this thread for so long--has it changed to the Beautiful People thread?
Have you seen the movie Fried Green Tomatoes? Don't I look like Cathy Bates? Round and loving Baby Ruth candy bars?
