Fave Doctor:John Pertwee
Fave companions: Romana #2 (rooh hooo..pant pant! Love the serious, studious, frail, waiflike English Rose type Smile ), and Nyssa (love the sewrious,s tudious, take charge type. Wink )
Has anyone read the New Adventures series, published by Virgin? They are based on the 7th doctor, and there is also a marvelous spinoff series based on a companion from the books, Bernice Summerfield (Benny), an Archeologist specializing in pre-war Mars. They are wonderful!!!

I remember many a happy saturday evening hiding behind a cushion while watching Doctor Who.

UK Gold is repeating it at the moment and the BBC is apparently looking for a new Doctor to revive it all next year.

Welcome Dolly!

Hiding behind a cushion? It frightened you?

A new Doctor Who? Hmmmmmm. I wish they could clone Tom Baker!

LOL!

I am not actually watching the repeats - but I did watch a couple. I had forgotten what a cold-hearted bastard the first doctor was!

Mind you, therein lay the fascination - there were a many impossibly perfect American sci fi heroes around - all insipid and such - and the women were fluff brained decorative items. Doctor Who was so cerebral by comparison.

Received the DVD set -- nice. Now for some pleasurably hours of viewing and some potent nostalgia (just like when I first got the complete "The Avengers.")
