I have a Rainsoft series e water treatment system. There are two tanks along with the salt resevoir. One tank has the computer readout and the other a machanical dial. I am installing this myself and need to know which one is supposed to go to the incoming water supply. Also, does the media in the tanks ever need to be changed out and where could i find it. I appreciate any help.

The tank with the mechanical timer goes into the #1 position followed by the computerized softener.
What media is in filter #1? GAC?
Other than hard water... what issues do you have with your water?
