Did you leave the GPS on the dash, or did they break in and find it?

Hate to say it, BUT if it was out in the open, you should expect it to get stolen.

Sorry to hear this, Diest. These things always happen when you can least afford them, don't they? Sad

Once, years ago, I discovered that someone had removed the headlights of my little VW (beetle) ... overnight, while I was fast asleep. What a noive! Evil or Very Mad

I am fortunate to live in such comfort as of late. Insurance should cover everything. However, talking with the insurance company made me want to kill someone. It was as if they didn't want to help me.

"Okay, now you said the car was outside in the street?"
"No mam, it was in my parking garage."
"And that's outside right?"
"No mam."
"Why weren't you parked at your normal spot?"
"I was parked at my normal spot."
"Do you normally leave your door open when you park outside?"
"The door was locked. They broke my window."
"Mkay... hmm... Now you said the car was in the street?

Confused

Was the person interviewing you drugged, or something ...?

What a bizarre exchange!

@shewolfnm,
I keep my GPS in the console. I was also told that if you have a portable GPS it is important to keep your the top of your dashboard dusted. A round clean spot on the dusty leather is a dead giveaway that there is a GPS hiding somewhere in your car.

@CalamityJane,
I used to work in a lousy neighborhood. The parking was outside, but began at the side of the building, and over to the back of it. Cars in the back were vandalized on a consistent basis. I am an earlybird anyway, so I made it my business to come a few minutes earlier than the rest of the staff, so I got a spot on the side of the building.

I got rid of my suction GPS mount, and use what's kind of a beanbag that sits on the dash, so there's no marks, or mount left visible when I take the GPS off and throw the mount under my seat.

@Diest TKO,
The thing that would piss me off the most about that is that I didn't get to use my reconfigured 500 round Uzzi on them/him/her.
