BOO! HISS! AW SHUCKS! Was commonly heard around the Kenmore yard last night, as the mighty Sox showed they were morals, giving up 6 runs in the first inning with Burkett and his not so fast-fastball throwing from the hill.
But don't despair, the kind fans of Friendly Fenway stuck with their team 'til the end, raising their ales in the air as again, the mighty beheamoth Ortiz sent not one, but two balls into the mass of fans in the stands for more homeruns. The fine lad has been hitting the ball as hard as any man ever has! Let us all pray our hormone-enhanced shortstop known as "Nomah" will stop popping the balls right into the defensive hands!
However, the Mariners from Seattle lost also last night, which keeps the race to the playoffs the same for today. Not to fear, the mighty Red Stockings will prevail!
CHEER! HOORAY!
Loaiza won his 20th game in the season, beating the much hated Yankees. That's really all I cared about this season.
Too bad the "other" Sox, Loaiza's, didn't make it to the playoffs.
In the unlikely event of a Red Sox / Giants world series, will you guys pitch to Bonds? Or not?
More to the point, would they pitch to Chipper Jones and Gary Sheffield? This is the Braves' year, I just know it...
Giants stomped all over the Braves in the regular season. What makes you think they won't in the playoffs?
Bonds is scary. Would SF pitch to Ramirez?
I haven't seen the Giants not pitch to anyone.
Braves now have their ducks in a row: pitching and hitting. And now Smoltz is back (he didn't pitch vs Giants last time, when Bonds hit two game-winning homers).
Of course, in the playoffs, it's always a crap shoot, as Bobby Cox always says...
