Buy at least one of each: Semi-auto pistol, semi-auto shotgun, semi-auto rifle.

You might very much want to consider an AR style rifle as they will be the first to get pulled by O-boy. If you don't have $1000 laying around, the only part of the gun that requires an FFL transfer is the lower reciever. These can be had for less than $250, and you can build the rest of your gun over time with OTC parts. Sun Devil arms in Arizona offers a very nice multi-cal lower machined out of single piece of aluminum.

@cjhsa,
I prefer a good sniper rifle and a handgun with a silencer.

@cjhsa,
How about just a Wal Mart shotgun sawed off to the legal limit? That'll kill an intruder just dead as a ******* doornail. Cheap too, and hard to miss with one.

If my goal is to run you over...I don't need to buy three warehouses full of Rolls Royces and Lamborghinis and such. A Hyundai will do it.

@Bi-Polar Bear,
Sure. Does Wally carry semi-autos? And does your local Wally's even sell guns any longer? Many don't.

This is what a stripped AR lower receiver looks like. This one happens to be made by DPMS, and they are a lower priced version. Remember, they're mil-spec, so they all look pretty much identical.

Nothing to do with O-boy's upcoming reign of terror, but I did trade for a POF lower over the weekend Twisted Evil

@cjhsa,
I favor revolvers.
Automatics jam too much.

Ceej is a shill for some gun manufacturers. They live to promote paranoia, and hate for civilization.

Nothing against revolvers - my suggestion is based purely on the knowledged that O-boy will ban anything semi-auto if he has the chance. ANYTHING.

@OmSigDAVID,
Everyone should own a good revolver and a good lever action rifle in the same caliber.

Get an automatic that rarely, if ever jams with quality ammo... get a Glock 17 or Glock 21.

@H2O MAN,
Two of my lever guns are W32SPL and the third is a 38-55 Savage. Somehow I don't think my S&W 38 ammo ain't gonna work in the latter... Wink

@H2O MAN,
My lever gun is a .308 Winchester Savage 99.

I have mulitiple revolvers.
My choice for personal defense is a .44 special stainless steel mirror
Taurus Model 445, loaded with hollowpointed slugs,
to put the brakes on within the target, for a full energy dump.

History has shown that the added bulk of a .44
or .45 pays off in stopping power, and that 's what its all about.

@OmSigDAVID,
You want stopping power get a 10mm... then shoot 40S&W through it at the range to save money.

.44 will give u about 10% more flying bulk (+ deformation of the hollowpoints).
Figuratively, like hitting the target across the chest with a 2" x 4".
