Unsung heros.

Today something happened that made me relish my unsung heros.

That would be a big shot of dlowan with a splash of Noddy, a pinch of sozobe and a dash of someone who asked to never be mentioned.

My brother is probably my biggest unsung hero but I can't really sing about him here even though I wish I could.

And then there is Ida B. Wells who has been very quietly sung for a bit of years but who deserves a choir.

Who are your unsung heros and why are they heros and why are they unsung?

Sing already!

Thanks!

@boomerang,
Here's one of mine...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Woods

perhaps a little bit sung...introduced to me by my high school history teacher, whom I hated at the time and only grew to respect many years afterwards, and I suppose is now another of my unsung heroes. I must find him and tell him, assuming he is still alive.

Another, also somewhat sung, is Harper Lee.
