I think Vista is good. I had a pre-release version for I used for a few months. I thought it was better then XP, and liked it alot. However it didn't really change my computing habits, or make my life much easier. When the pre-release expired I went back to XP, and don't think its worth it to pay to upgrade.
So I guess I was just offering the idea as a way to save some money. A quick search at Best Buy (not the cheapest place) shows $240 for Vista Home Premium. I thought if you already had an XP cd, you could just install that on the new computer and save yourself a couple hundred bucks.
