Polyester fiber cleaning

I have an 88% polyester fiber sofa and chair. What should I use to clean it and get smells out of it? I thought about steam cleaning, but I'm not sure if that's ok to do with Polyester.

@Heidis85,
polyester is very difficult to deoderize because once the smell penetrates the fiber it is hard to get it out. steam cleaning may actually drive the smell deeper into the fiber

you can use an off the shelf product called Febreze, but some people have said it causes problems with pet health.

http://www.febreze.com/en_US/home.do

i don't play a textile chemist on tv, i am one, and have used industrial strength febreze commercially on home furnishings and carpets, but you might find its smell a bit too sweet.
